Solar Power Plants in Germany
Planning, investing in, and operating solar parks in Germany over the long term
We have developed approximately 430 solar parks in Germany, with a total capacity of 4.5 GW, in our core market of Germany. We plan, invest in, and operate our solar parks for the long term and retain them in our own portfolio.
For the landowners we work with, this means having a single point of contact in their region who supports them from the beginning to the end of the contract term. To ensure this, we currently employ over 50 project developers across Germany.

Here you will find a selection of our projects in Germany and around the world. To date, we have completed approximately 750 projects in more than 25 countries. Our core markets are currently Germany, Spain, France, the Netherlands, India, and Australia. We have our own offices in these countries, where highly qualified regional specialists plan, install, and operate solar power systems. Biodiversity
Solar Farms and Biodiversity: Promoting Biodiversity in a Sustainable Way
Does ground-mounted solar power destroy our landscape? Quite the opposite is true. Monitoring by external experts shows a significant increase in biodiversity, particularly on former farmland with low soil quality—even on adjacent plots.
As a member of the German Association for New Energy (bne), we are committed to incorporating species protection and the promotion of biodiversity into the planning of our photovoltaic systems. Measures to promote biodiversity are now standard practice for us.
These include, among other things, regionally sourced seeds rich in herbs and flowers in the areas surrounding our plants, the planting of new hedges and tree lines, and the establishment of orchard meadows.
At ENERPARC, we have established a dedicated Environmental Planning department to address these issues, which brings together topics such as biodiversity, species conservation, and sheep grazing. The team consists of biologists, landscape planners, natural scientists, and sustainability engineers, and is responsible, among other things, for providing technical support in the preparation of the Landscape Conservation Accompanying Plan (LBP), the development plan, and monitoring for species identification and biodiversity at our PV plants.
Advantages of solar parks for farmland:
- Once the land is used for photovoltaic systems, no more fertilization or use of pesticides takes place on the site.
- Solar parks create habitats through extensive management via mowing or grazing.
- On converted land, they support the preservation of open landscapes that would otherwise be left to natural succession without management plans.
bne study confirms increase in biodiversity at solar parks
Ten of our solar parks were included in the world’s most comprehensive study on biodiversity in solar parks located on agricultural land, commissioned by bne. The follow-up study in 2025 once again confirmed that solar parks increase biodiversity in agricultural landscapes.
