ENERPARC developed and built the Cochem-Zell solar cluster, comprising nine ground-mounted solar plants in Rhineland-Palatinate with a capacity of 192 MWp, between 2019 and 2024, and operates it as part of its own portfolio. The project was challenging due to the special topographical conditions of the Moselle valley. In order to connect the plants with each other while integrating them carefully into the landscape, complex drilling work was carried out under the Moselle, a double-track railway line and through two mountains. The 270-metre-high slopes between the plants required drilling to a depth of up to 930 metres.
