07.06.2023 – ENERPARC finalises move-in to new headquarters in Hamburg's HafenCity with opening of staff restaurant

After unofficially moving in in October 2022, ENERPARC AG is now announcing the official completion of the seven-storey building in HafenCity, including the new staff restaurant, which in the evenings will be transformed into a bar open to the public with fancy finger food. The solar park specialist is thus taking account of the continuous growth of recent years and at the same time sending a clear signal for the future.

After almost 14 years of corporate history in the Astra Tower in Hamburg, St. Pauli, ENERPARC AG moved into its own office complex in HafenCity together with its subsidiaries and sister companies in October 2022. In order to meet the requirements of the modern working world, topics such as flexible working, dynamic creative spaces, leisure facilities and also the topic of climate neutrality were taken into account.

On an area of around 10,000 m² including the basement, the new, light-flooded rooms, architectural refinements, and modern communication areas offer plenty of space for a constructive working atmosphere. On six floors, the new office allows for different occupancies for undisturbed teamwork or individual work. On the first floor there is also office space for other tenants. Altogether, the new building offers space for about 300 workplaces. On the ground floor there is commercial space for other businesses as well as the staff restaurant with about 100 seats. The latter – operated by the Glück in Sicht-Group from Glücksburg (Baltic Sea) – will in future be transformed in the evenings into a cool bar open to the public with a large outdoor area, thus offering a smooth transition into the evening, directly on the water and with Hanseatic sunsets. Those looking for a location for seminars, company parties or after-work events will also find what they are looking for here: The Glück in Sicht-team offers their restaurant as a rentable event location.

With the new building, the Hamburg-based solar expert in the megawatt segment once again underlines its role as one of the market leaders in Europe. "ENERPARC stands for open, transparent and fair dealings with each other and with our customers and suppliers. The new office building in HafenCity reflects all this in its own way: we have created a modern working environment in which our employees feel comfortable and can develop their full potential," says CEO and Chairman of the Board Christoph Koeppen.

The solar orientation of ENERPARC is also reflected in the architecture of the building. The shape and design of the roof has been adapted for optimal energy yield from photovoltaic systems, and the south facade facing the Elbe is also partially equipped with building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) for energy generation. A 288 kWh energy storage unit is used for self-utilisation of solar energy and as an emergency power supply for the critical IT infrastructure. E-mobility users have also been thought of, as all parking spaces in the basement are equipped with wall boxes for electric cars and charging stations for e-bike riders.

"We are particularly proud of our sustainability concept, which, in addition to generating our own electricity through building-integrated solar modules, also includes an open atrium with a greened inner courtyard and a greened inner wall. But we also want to ensure the satisfaction of our employees in the long term. That is why we have created open spaces and retreats within the building, offer sports and leisure activities and now also have our own restaurant that provides our employees with daily changing, healthy and regional food," says COO Stefan Müller.

"In addition to our five locations in Glücksburg on the Baltic Sea, we are very pleased to be able to gain a foothold in Hamburg with the ENERPARC Group's staff restaurant, where we want to reinterpret the classic, dusty canteen concept and launch a high-quality gastronomy with trendy, healthy and regional products. In perspective, we then want to make this offer available to the public in the evening as well," says the managing director of the Glück in Sicht-Group, Julian Haug.
