Battery Storage and PV Plants

A Perfect Match

We now plan our new solar power systems in combination with battery storage (BESS) as standard, and we are gradually retrofitting those that are already installed. The ratio of nominal power plant output to battery storage varies and also depends on whether they serve purely as temporary storage for the solar park or are also allowed to absorb other electricity from the grid in order to relieve the load. With the current generation of storage systems, we can already store solar power for around two hours – and this figure is rising.

Installing battery storage systems is as simple as it needs to be: as modular containers, they can be integrated into the solar park area with little effort and are flexibly scalable. Nevertheless, the combination of renewable energy systems with storage facilities is still relatively new. Requirements such as minimum distances from residential areas, the implementation of fire protection concepts, or privacy measures must be incorporated into the planning of open-space solar systems. That is why we have a dedicated department with bundled interdisciplinary expertise that focuses on battery storage.
